About this masterclass
What does it mean to be “commercial” when your organisation doesn’t exist to make a profit? In this bite-size video series, Wendy Cartwright – HR lead at the Palace of Westminster Restoration and Renewal Programme and former HR director at the Olympic Delivery Authority – explains how HR leaders can bring commercial thinking into public service.

Drawing on her work in central government, London 2012, and now Parliament’s restoration, Wendy shows how commercial HR is about value for money: aligning people strategies with organisational priorities, developing workforce plans for major programmes, and working with delivery partners to achieve measurable results.

Filmed in front of HR directors and chief executives, this masterclass is designed for HR professionals in the public sector who want to combine commercial rigour with public service purpose.
