Recognising and sharing the power of stand-out culture

The Business Culture Awards overall winner Mortgage Advice Bureau

Mortgage Advice Bureau was announced as Overall Winner at the Business Culture Awards 2022. Now in its eighth year, the awards recognise organisations that have taken active steps to create a stand-out business culture.

Mortgage Advice Bureau beat other category winners to take away the top accolade for demonstrating the broadest deployment of its initiative and most comprehensive approach in its methods, when examined both quantitatively and qualitatively. The judges were looking for the highest standards in stakeholder engagement, innovation, strategic alignment, leadership, communication, learning and more.

At an awards ceremony on 5 October in central London, founder of the Business Culture Awards Tim Pointer said this year’s awards were especially relevant because “unprecedented is the word of the year”.

“We have steered our organisations through an unprecedented pandemic; unprecedented changes to the ‘role of the office’ – hybrid isn’t just a car anymore; the phenomena of ‘quiet quitting’; unemployment at its lowest rate since 1974; war in Ukraine; record temperatures of over 40C and soaring energy costs.

“We have responded to the death of our Queen; surging interest rates; stuttering supply chains; strikes by everyone from barristers to port workers to train drivers … and we know it’s not over yet! And still we keep on going.”

He added that organisations choose how they respond in such circumstances.

“It is a choice to put diversity, equity & inclusion at the centre of our work; a choice to support colleagues volunteering in their local communities; a choice to prioritise women’s health; a choice to champion colleague safety; a choice to care for employees’ mental health.

“It is also a choice to advance the products and services that we all rely upon; a choice to create and sustain purposeful workplaces that listen to and engage our colleagues and a choice to have a business culture that does all of this in our constantly changing but always challenging society.”

The People Space was delighted to be media partner once again for the Business Culture Awards and we send our huge congratulations to the winners, highly commended and finalists below:
