The People Space is excited to be supporting Richard Boyatzis and his research team at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in a ground breaking, first of its kind study of the competencies of effective coaches
We invite you to help influential academic Richard Boyatzis (pictured below) and his team by completing a set of questionnaires that might take an hour. If you are able to assist, you can sign up and complete the questionnaires using this link. You will be asked to read and electronically agree to a Informed Consent Document to participate in the research. The research team at CWRU administers the sign-up sheet, thus we will not know who is participating and who is not.
Once you have completed the questionnaires, you will be asked for the names and email addresses of 5-8 peers who are able to make observations about the frequency of your behavior expressing various competencies. The research team will send each of your peers an email asking them to participate. If they agree, after agreeing to an informed consent form that contains all the details about the study, they will be asked to complete a questionnaire about your behavior which will take them about 20 minutes
Also, once you have completed the questionnaires, you will be asked for names and email addresses of 5-8 people with whom you are starting or about to begin a coaching relationship. If you already have been coaching someone, they would not qualify to participate. The research team will send them an email asking them to participate. If they agree, after agreeing to an informed consent form that contains all the details about the study, they will be asked to complete a few questionnaires at that time which will take them about 35 minutes (at the beginning of the coaching) and again one year later. You or they can chose to withdraw at any time should you decide you no longer wish to participate.
